White lumps on top fin and 2 on bottom fin of rainbow

Hi everyone I'm Steve from Cornwall I have a very nice rainbow fish who I have had for about 18months and I have noticed that his top fin has white thickening and on his bottom fin he has 2 white large lumps I have inserted a couple of pictures anyway any help in this matter would be feta grateful I don't want yo loose him but if it's contagious then I have to think about the other.

    Have they been bickering? It looks like fungus from damage.
    Pristine water and Pimafix, or something similar, to get rid of the fungus.

    Thank plankton I had a feeling it was fungus so I will treat with Pimafix.

    Hi Steve from Cornwall and welcome  :21:

    Have you made your water harder?
    I understand that Cornwall water is quite soft whilst many Rainbowfish require "hard" water.

    Is that a Boeseman's rainbowfish   (Melanotaenia boesemani)?
    If yes then they require water that is 10dGH+ (15dGH is better).
    If yes then they are also a true "tropical fish" and a tank water temperature of 26C+ (27/28C is better).

    I was trying to work out which it was too. Looks more like a parkinsoni, they still like it warm though.
