I'm in the big smoke this week. This remarkably friendly bird could probably eat all my fish in one gulp :o Quack!
They've had unwary pigeons before!

Have a good visit. Are you going to the Aquatic Design Centre?

I read that one of them had a regular habit of flying over to Regents Park at penguin feeding time!

I'm at a conference in the IMechE building this week, which is only about 50 yards from the pelicans. Here they are having a 'networking coffee break'...

No time for ADC sadly, though I have managed to visit a few times in the past.

I used to live in Florida. Pelicans were as common and just as annoying as gulls often are over here.

Are the birds or the delegates having a networking coffee break Mol_PMB? Enjoy your conference.

Well my pelican photos did fool one person into thinking my conference was in a more exotic part of the world!

I certainly preferred networking with the Pelicans rather than with the railway engineers :-)

Finally I am back at home for a couple of weeks. The fish seem OK, if a little skinny, and I've got a lot of maintenance to catch up on.

Here's a photo of my little Pseudacanthicus L427 who enjoyed some prawns this evening. Behind is one of my L397s, now fully grown. One day the size ratio of these two will be the other way round.

It reminds me of our rabbits...we had a black French lop male whose red lop girlfriend went from 2/3 of his size to double.

With the change in the weather I thought I might try another cool water change in the Burgessi tank. But no need, they're spawning already. Hopefully I can salvage some eggs - at least I'll be in a better position to take care of them this time.

I've just been watching one of my female Cory burgessi carrying her eggs around and placing them, followed everywhere by two of the males :)

Thanks! They're still at it - she's been laying for hours, one egg at a time and placing them all individually in different places around the tank. Mostly on my spawning mop or on Java fern leaves.

Here are some pictures of them. Please excuse the quality is the tank is gloomy and plagued by reflections.

How long will you leave the eggs without intervention? Oh it would be great if you could add this lovely cory to you list.

Tomorrow I will pull out the spawning mop and put it in the breeder box that I already have running on this tank since my last attempt. I think there are between 10 and 20 eggs in the mop, and a similar number scattered in the plants throughout the tank. I think I might leave the ones on plants where they are.

They're one of my favourite Cory species; I don't think they're commercially bred (certainly mine are all wilds) so it would be great to raise some!
