I think the first 5 years are a very steep learning curve, and then it gets steeper as you do more research and facts and opinions change. ;) *grin*
I need to do some rehoming soon as well, and I feel feel awful as well, but then I'm a human with emotions. The fish will probably be ok as long as we find a good new home for them :)
Sent from my PC as I still don't understand the the logic for mobile internet usage ;) *grin*
I really hate "autocorrupt"!!!

Here's a couple of pics of them I took about 6 weeks ago :)
I took a couple this morning but the lights aren't on yet so it's not great - will try again later.

Yes - are you OK to pick them up? Would some time this weekend suit you? Or an evening next week?

Hi Paul, how old was the cockatoo as I've just got he from work and he had passed away. All the parameters are 0, I wonder if he has got stuck on the bog wood in the moss. :(

Morally, is it acceptable for me to re-home these fish (to LFS or forum members) just because they don't fit my plans? Or, by buying them have I made a commitment to them to look after them for their life?

    Any thoughts?
Do what is best for you and the fish. There is no point in keeping fish for the sake of it.
I recently re-homed some lemon tetra and some neon tetra because they really did not fit in with my plans.
I now have a tank that works extremely well, looks good and very compatible species.

A year ago I re-homed some platy because my water had changed from hard to fairly soft due to a LFS selling some gravel that leeched carbonates, making the water hard (16dH). I got rid of that gravel and replaced it, which in turn made my water too soft to keep hard water species (I lost 3 molly for the same reason).

So I have re-homed fish twice, once for the sake and wellbeing of the fish (platy) and once because the fish did not fit in with my big picture.

Hope it helps and reassures you Paul
    Stephen

    Edit:
Just realised it is an older post.
I missed it the first time.  *grin*

Look after your fish and the water, do regular water changes & maintenance, do your research and the hobby will be rewarding.
    All the best
