I have created an Excel (2007) spreadsheet to record my Freshwater tanks water parameters.
The spreadsheet produces 'auto adjusting' graphs, this can make it a little easier to spot trends.

Please see comment below for updated spreadsheet.
I use it to record:
ammonia
Nitrites
Nitrates
Water changes
Vacumn history

I also use the Excel 'comments' facility for recording things like adding fish/plants etc. Just hover over a cell which has a small red triangle in the top right hand corner.

I do not monitor pH as mine remains constant, although I could add this if you wish.

N.B. Excel 2007 has the .xlsx file extension. However, the file will still load into Excel 2003 (in compatability mode) & will still work.

I'd be interested to investigate this a little more - it does look really useful.

I clicked on your Mediafire link ... but I'm a spreadsheet numpty so I didn't know what to do next in order to get it into my machine to play with!

Can you prompt me through the process, please?

Interesting sheet, I missed this...

Vale, click link, download the xls file to somewhere on your machine (I.E Desktop), Double click on file it should open into Excel. If not start up Excel, then file menu/open, locate file, load in

To add, if you haven't got Excel, then use Openoffice, which is free and can be downloaded from the web

However my PC being the mardy git that it is, won't play. When I click the link a Windows information box appears informing me that there's been a 'sandbox violation' followed by a list of things that all mention 'flash'. Now, because of I-don't-know-why, my machine doesn't 'do' Flash and/or Javascript*. Hence I'm unable to see how to download the file. Am I scuppered, then?!

I do have Excel 2007, btw.

*also, I think, the reason why I don't/can't use smileys. And, yes, Javascript is 'enabled' on my system and I have the latest update of Flash!

Try a different browser, thats always the next step. I did notice when I tried to download the file via Opera browser, it did pull up redirection adverts, weird.

Firefox downloads it ok though, failing that message me your email address, and i'll email the file to you

Sorry I haven't replied to your questions, I have been pretty busy of late.
Many thanks for your kind comments.
The problems with the downloading, seems to have been covered by Jay (thanks Jay).
I will add a pH section shortly & upload it. I am also working on a 'Tank details' worksheet - though this is only likely to work with Excel 2007.

A 'Tank details' section
A 'Maintenance log' section
and
An 'Aquarium calculator' section

If this is of interest, please let me know of any additions or changes you would like to see.

This will be the last update for awhile (unless you suggest any major changes).
