Pregnant German Blue ram
« on: July 23, 2014, 12:30:12 pm »
We recently thought we had purchased a pair of German Blue rams, turns out they're both female's.Thought Ok 2 female's is probably better than 2 male's.After a few days we know one of the female's is pregnant(large pink belly)and is starting to chase fish, whilst the other female is chasing the pregnant one.

We have a 15 gallon tank which is already set up with just a few Danio's in.Do we move the pregnant one into this tank and will she need a male ?? Thanks  thumbsup

They are egg layers so won't be pregnant as such. Needs a male to fertilise the eggs. Pink belly could indicate dominance over the other.

Ok this is my 1st fish tank.Im 12yrs old and the tank(55) gallons was brought for me and my younger brothers by my dad, we all look after it together. We are all enjoying the fish

We would prefer another male in the main tank but don't want to overcrowd

    Thanks

She should lay eggs anyway, but to get them fertilised you'll need a male.......
