How long in isolation?

popz: I have just finished cycling my new 20 gal isolation/breeding tank. I have just introduced 9 new fish. How long should they stay in isolation before it is safe to transfer to main tank?
johnny70: Minimum 1 week then however long you think is needed, I think Plankton does 6 weeks. i normally do 3/4 weeksHTHJOHNNY
stella the fella: i read in a book that you should keep them there for 2-3 weeks.
popz: I presume it should be long enough for any disease to appear - any recommendations to look up disease life cycles/times to appear?
plankton: If it's a shop I know, then it's about 3 weeks. If it's a new shop it's 6 weeks.
