ello all boy have i missed you thought this was a more approbriate place to put the goings on in the tank saga

yesterday temp 25

am 0.50
nitrite 1.0
nitrate 20 all due to the filter media change should start settling down again

today purchased qt tank small orca mr 398 31 litr currently day 1 cycling

sorry mick should have given more info.... tank juwel rekord 96 home to 2 guppie 1 black molly 1 swordtail and a platy
tank had been cycling in disasterous curcumstances ie bad info, week after initial set up, by lfs came on here worried as 1 by 1 initial 10 lifestock slowly wittled down to 5 understandably ph seemed to settle at 7.4-7.6 nitrite was 0 am o.25 nitrate 10 so all in all after 4 weeks i was almost there
then site crashed temp and i did something stupid after reading my book had a article of regular maintenance and monthly it said to change white filter pad u guessed it i did and now cycling again:(
after plankton explained that he hadn't changed nowt for 10 yrs i wont be doing that again
wish list i had hoped on an unusual breed of limozine gourami x2 and serbai cory x3 female gupps for the males x5

Limozine gourami thats a new one for me. I've only heard of a licorice gourami but the other tankmates should be fine.

Are you talking about the small white filter pad on the top of your filter? on top of the rest of your media? Changing that is hardly likely to start the cycle all over again is it? Is it possible that the cycle just hasn't finished?

yes that's correct as far as i can gather its playing catch up
cycling had'nt finished your'e right but was so close haven't took the readings today yet but rest assured they will be here soon:)

Oh, I thought you meant.....I only rinse out the polypad, use it for at least 2 months (until it starts breaking down). No point in throwing money away! (I should've been a Scot or a Yorkshireman I think

oh my i initially bought it my husband two weeks before christmas so that makes it exactly 6 weeks today
