Frostic's Fluval Roma 125

Hey Guys,

I've had my Roma125 for a few years now, and decided this year to go planted after seeing some other peoples amazing tank logs. Originally i had a bunch of issues with yellowing/dying leaves on the plants. I picked up an EI Starter Kit and for the past week and a half I've been using that. Seems to have made a difference already.

Here's how it looked before i started EI:



And here it is today after moving everything around, I think i prefer it like this - It looks a lot denser. I just need everything at the back to grow tall now.



Ignore the red/pink plant, it arrived today in a sorry state. I'm hoping it'll pick up. Eventually i want to get either some hairgrass or dwarf sag. Maybe some.

Yeah, just not sure how to go about it. I've read that painting it is an easy way to do it, but i don't really want to be emptying the tank out just so i can paint it. Do you think black card would look any good?

I used foam from a craft shop and glue dots. Easy to do without emptying or moving.

Black card is fine. A bin bag is fine (to a point), and you can get an idea from that anyway.......

I'd be concerned I'd get the card wet and need to replace it regularly.

I didn't even think about it getting wet 
Did you join lots of A4 foam sheets, or did you manage to get one big one? I think I'd need something A1 size which probably isn't cheap

just stuck them next to each other, wood and plants hide any sign of lines. I don't ever notice any.

I was looking for something quick and easy to grow, that would fill out. Found something called water wisteria (proper name Hygrophila Difformis?) on eBay and it seemed perfect. I think i may have got too much though. I'll leave it to root for now before re-arranging it:



All of the leaves from the red plant turned to mush, but already I can see a some new growth so I'm hopeful it will recover.
