Added some dwarf water lettuce I just received from nams :D

edit: also added some salvinia natans I had in a pot. Just noticed starting to get some algae on the filter cover and glass. Might test the water this wknd, see if anything is happening.

Yup! It's back to 0, 0 this evening :D must have had a decent amount of munchers still living on the plants/moss balls from my old tank.

Unfortunately my house still hasn't completed, so bit strapped for cash... still I have priorities so going to buy some plants tomorrow and maybe get some fish at the weekend :o

How many fish would I be able to add at first? And should I add shrimp at the same time or later?

What have you decided to get? If it's fully cycled you have the choice of either fully stocking, or at your leisure, same with the shrimp.

Thanks for confirming, wasn't sure :) If I don't have an interview this arvo I'm going to get some plants, I'll look over the fish then and get more of a plan together for the wknd. I think I need to see them in the flesh to get a better idea. Looking to get 3 species of fish max, but maybe just 2, plus shrimp. I've also come round to the idea of platys as long as they're blue.

    Got a mixed bag...

    Lilaeopsis Novae-zelandiae
    Pogostemon Helferi
    Lobelia cardinalis
    Ludwigia palustris
    Vallisneria 'Gigantea' americana (I think)
Something else I can't tell... it's a stem plant, mostly green, but has pink tops of each.

Will post a pic once put them all in later.

Yes! How on earth did you get that from my description :P

Photos attached... and it's completely changed! I'm not the best planter, and this is the first time I've done something like this, but I think we're generally happy with it. I'm umming aahing about whether to let the plants settle and for me to get to grip with those for a week before getting fish.

Went to MA in Bristol to pick up some fish. Not the happiest with them. Explained I'd fishless cycled, was looking for fish for heavily planted 60L. Manager guy didn't really know what fish he had in which didn't give me the best impression. Said thanks and we went to try a different nicer guy I've spoken to before. Said we could only take 3 fish, shop policy, though they would sell us more they would be guaranteed. Got 3 male Threadfin Rainbowfish. They didn't have females and won't be getting in because they're boring... I want a natural set-up so ofc I want females and I want my males to live tsk. So somehow have to find me some females. They also didn't really seem to get the fishless cycle saying I could only add 3 fish. I'd rather add all in one go or couple groups to minimise infection chances :/ thinking of getting what I want from the internet now.

Plan is to group up the threadfins. Add a shoal of emerald dwarf rasbora. Complete with cherry shrimp.

    Looks lovely!

I really like the Emerald Dwarf Rasbora - I don't even have a tank at the minute lol but they are definitely on my 'wish list' as are cherry shrimp - I used to have shrimp before and they are great characters.

Threadfins are lovely, females are not boring (ask the males) but are not as attractive to us humans.
I have one female left and one male left in my 125L tank.
I could of dropped them off at Bristol yesterday as I was down that way (Severn Bridge). ;)

The small Danio Erythromicron (Celestichthys erythromicron) are nice but don't like the tank temp too warm, 22C is ideal.
Both them and threadfins will be fine at 23.5C, as indeed will most shrimps.
