Why would dropping the water changes help with the issue? For most things, more is better.

Glad things have turned around :)

From all the advice I have had, most breeders only do 10% every two weeks. Some only top up for evaporation until parameters require a change, either the tds gets too high or nitrates rise.
Water changing too much can stress the shrimp by making them moult too soon, leaving them open to infections and other issues.
I was doing 25% every week thinking I was helping.10% for now seems to be working,I have had no more deaths and breeding has started again.

That's interesting to know. I do about 20-25% a week at the moment. Maybe I'll cut down a little. Although I did clean out the 306 this week and it was filthy! (Plus there was about 100 shrimp in there too- doh!) Guess my tank is quite heavily stocked these days! Hope things keep improving.

What a difference a month makes, there's babies everywhere and every female is berried.
BBA is making a comeback but I'm reluctant to add any H202 while the colony is breeding again.
