I'm finding it hard hi I work out how much water conditioner I add when only topping up evaporated water.  ie I had to add 6L in last 2 days and my conditioner say add 1ml per 76L.  How do I work out the math?

I use seachem prime and it is safe to over dose with that. I would get some 1ml syringes from boots, then you can be sure of the amount you are using. It is only a tiny amount you need. If it is easier dose a full bucket and just use what you need.

I have prime but will mostly use that when adding fish. Also I have fluvel bio enhancer which I haven't started to use as I have not added any fish.  Shall I add that to the mix or just carry on as I have with just topping up ammonia to get the cycle going

It wouldn't do any harm to add bacteria although i am not sure as to how much they really help. Keep going with the ammonia anyway. I know prime is pricey but it is a lot more cost effective than most conditioners a couple of drops is all thats needed most of the time.

That seems impossible 1ml for every 76lt means your going to need around 0.12 of a ml lol that's surely impossible

5ml of prime treats 200L, that's why the 1ml syringe is such a good idea.

Thinking of the trumpet snail as a good substrate filtration,  do these reproduce lots??

Or maybe the kuhli loach..  They seem a good option as the snails multiply quite fast....  Think my first fish is going to be a few clown loach....

The trumpet snails are very good at turning the sand over, you can keep their numbers in check fairly easily. Kuhli loaches have much more personality though (if you ever see them). Clown loaches are fun fish, just be prepared for the size they grow to.

It's probably best to let the tank mature a while before adding loaches (large or small). Not just to get the filter cycled but also to start to build up a population of microscopic creatures etc.
Trumpet snails are a great addition.
I've never kept clown loaches (too big even for my 450L tank) but kuhlis are great if you have 10 or more. Mine gradually wiped out a snail population, I think by eating the babies.
