** Geek Post ** Ubuntu
« on: April 21, 2011, 08:33:15 pm »
Right I have just completely changed my OS to Ubuntu and am looking for a good list of Must Have apps for it.

I already have Open Office and Gimp but can anyone suggest others?

Thanks

Haven't used it for a long time, open office was always the most useful  *grin*

I went back to Ubuntu because I am sick of the Virus called Windows and Office lol I have a powerful PC but because windows is so resource hungry it slows down to a grind until now mwhahahaha

Windows 7 is a big improvement over previous versions for being resource hungry but still doesn't touch Ubuntu for speed.  I've gone to XP as my good lady struggled with Ubuntu.

lol, I had xp but my PC kept getting blue screening when I was trying to upgrade to win 7. It worked fine on Chellys PC but wouldn't have any of it on this one, did all the install and blue screened after the final restart where it sorts out all the final settings and then it restarts and rolled back to xp, got fed up of that after 10 different tries so thought to myself "stuff it fed up of windows now"ยท

Fortunately I only got 1 licence and was just going to pull a cheeky one putting it on my machine.

It does but there are literally thousands and I only want an idea of good ones to try.
