Happy New Year everyone,

Productive day today. Playing with rockscape and got them soaking now to get the gasses out. Have put egg crate under the two large rocks, was very scared when I placed them in the tank! Amazing what these floating base tanks can hold!

Do people think I have enough hidey holes? Stocking is still up for debate. Either Saulosi species or demasoni/ labs/ rustles.

I would have put egg-crate under all the rocks myself, and built it up a bit to get some height and more hidey holes, rather than spread it all over the tank, and then put the sand in to support the structure........ ;)

    Hi all,

Sorry for lack of updates, have managed to get the electrics wired in pretty much, my aim is to keep everything inside the cabinet in a dry area rather than behind where water could spill.

OK so there was a slight (18 month) delay but I have finally got the tank ready to go (major building work on house in-between). Anyway the tank is in situ and I am in the process of painting the back black. Rocks have been pressure washed and playing the layout. Will keep you posted!

Patience is the best virtue if a fishkeeper! FWIW my two mbuna tanks have given me very little problems, maybe because I have avoides species that are too belligerant and I have crammed as many rocks as possible, creating a maze of passages where fish can escape out of sight from bullying

I went with more but smaller rocks and a blinking big tank to avoid too much aggression... between that and the shopping trolley it all seems to be going 'swimmingly'...
