I am buying my RO water.

I switched to RO just before I got my new tank. I got my new tank as I wanted to keep Red Head Tapajos and wanted to be in more control of my water for those fish (on the advice from my lfs). I don't have those fish anymore but have continued to use RO water.

I did have a few algae problems in my old tank which did have plants in. Had occasional green water and eventually got over run with the black hair algae which lead me to. Relieve I had a phosphate problem.

My parameters have been very consistent since using RO water.

Maybe try 25% tap water + 75% RO water (10L tap + 30L RO = 40L) and see how it goes.
It will save you money too.

Been a hectic month or so with the tank. Moved house in March and all my fish had a vacation at my lfs for a week or so whilst I got setup.

We moved into a new house and the better half wasn't keen on having the tank in the living room so have been moved into my future man cave, also known as a garage. Had real trouble keeping the temperature at a desired level so bought the 300W Eheim which does the trick.

Also had a slight jig around with my stock, still have the Sterbai, male and female BNs. Have added 4 Otto's and have gone down the Discus route. Has been interesting reading some of the recent forum posts as there seem to be quite a few pop up regarding Discus.

My local fish store has also had a small refit so in exchange for the baby BNs I took in they offered to give me some of the tanks which I intend to use for breeding once I have a little more space in the man cave.

If you're keeping discus it'll be a bit warm for otos.....
