Bit of a sad note today. Lost my little yellow platy :( came down to check the tanks and he was nose down on the sand and rigid. No marks on him, maybe looking a little tubby but nothing out of the ordinary. He would've been coming up for 2 years old which is just short of average life span but i do wonder if his stunted growth may have had something to do with it, or even if the new signifers pestered him a bit much. Either way all i can do is speculate, at least he can join "Bubbles" our late ram and continue his obsession with her when we had her

    Thanks everyone
as usual its the not knowing that will bug me. Tested the tank and did a small change incase, all parameters same as always. I've been keeping a closer eye on the tanks due to the new additions anyway, and hadn't noticed anything untoward with any of them. The signifers did pester him a little for the first couple of days, but it was never for more than for a few seconds before they'd become distracted with themselves and leave him be (wonder if it was just to do with his size and colour). As i say all i can do is guess and wonder :/

Not too much going on atm. One of the female apistos seems to be keeping the others out of her corner by the filter and she is looking more yellow than the others...cant see any eggs or anything but cant see if properly though as shes picked the most awkward corner lol
They all seemed to have picked their places though, and the male seems to have calmed a bit an doesnt seem so bothered with everyone. Looks like we might have a couple more of the little ones turning male so they wil be getting moved to my tank.
Got some new "holy grails" for feeding, bit more durable than the disposable shot glasses ;)

I'll get some pics later, still cant upload videos tapatalk being a nuisance after its update. I'll try and work something out

Heres a couple of pics, not all the best as per my usual photography skills.
    The 180l:

Our blue and orange platy with a female apisto and 2 "plattails"

    Yellow female guarding her spot

    The 100l:

    Arnie showing off

    The boys

    Signifers

And something appeared in Marsellus's tank...

All looking good. Ooh, does Marsellus now have live plants in his tank too? I like it - hope he enjoys them.

Looking good. Hope Marsellus is enjoying his plants & new bog wood :D
Also on the posting video front, do you have a YouTube account? If you do ( or you could set one up) then you can post videos on there & then copy & paste the web address (minus the s in the https: bit) into your post & your video will be embedded right there.
I found this info posted by someone else on this forum & it has worked for me. :D

    Thanks guys
Yes Marsellus has a few more live plants, there was already 2 in there that i'd been trying to grow from a couple of leaves, the dwarf hygrophila at the left end of the right hand wood arch and the crypt on the other end of the same arch, the others are ones i've taken from my 100l and a baby java fern that was growing in the 180l. I figured i couldn't put the wood in without any plants, just have to see how he gets on with it now until i order him some more :)
I'll have a look at the youtube thing, i did read it on here a little while back.

Good stuff, those little blue eyes are charming. Is that dwarf lettuce on the surface? I really should have some surface plants but got to figure a way of them not moving around too much, maybe coral them in with some air line and suckers.
