Sorry to hear of your loss, can't really offer any insight as I've never tried any of the Pseudomugil's though I was tempted a couple of times. In the end I opted for the celebes as a small shoaling type rather than blue eyes, they looked a bit more robust.

    Thanks everyone.
I know your a bit better with your bigger bows Kev ;)
I might hunt around for p.furcatus and see if i can source some. They tend to be a bit bigger than a few of the other pseudomugils. I think i also thought about the celebes for our 180l but opted against it as its only just 3ft long and i wasnt sure it would be long enough for them (although i may be confusing myself right now), but the 100l definitely isnt long enough as its only 80cm long (as i say i might be confusing my species here as i looked at so many rainbows at one point lol)

Yes a 3 footer might be pushing it a bit for celebes, thay are pretty active and the males get up to 6cm, maybe a bit bigger. I'm sure I saw P furcatus for a while last year at MA in Wheatcrofts (now Notcutts) in Nottm but they arent a common stock item.

Lost my last female signifer today :(
My OH found her this afternoon (im nights again! Which is the only time this seems to happen). The two males are ok just going about gently, think they are a bit lost with no one to display to.
Still dont know what’s happened with them, and it’s frustrating just throwing theories around in my head
Sorry for your losses Iain  :(
I do not know anyone who has had much success with the "blue-eyed" rainbowfish.
I think it's just bad luck as opposed to anything else.

    All the best

Bloody hell, thats huge... Im never selective when I clear mine out, just grab handfuls and ditch. Think I will just lose the small ones and keep a few of the bigger ones going forward.

    Yours look gorgeous

    Thanks  *grin*
Thats what I normally do with the other tanks, but after dishing out the bundles before Christmas and having a few with flowers i left them, its only been 2/3 weeks since i sent a load out   *grin*
Theres no ferts in that tank, just a fairly low flow lights on all day (variable) and a buttload of baby platies lol

That's a seriously impressive looking water lettuce.  I don't do so well, maybe the duckweed is outcompeating it.

That would make some salad!!  Mine is healthy but it grows slowly.  How long does it take to double?

Well that particular bit was one that had flowered that i kept after i sent a few batches out to people. So that has had some space for a couple of weeks. But it does seem to cover that tank quickly, the others not so much but all he lights on the other tanks are timed and theres a bit more flow on the surface of my other tanks. But generally when coverinng it will double in a week or two, that big bit has been a little while in the growth i think (couple of months maybe?)
