4 bn plecos, need some advice.
« on: April 20, 2017, 02:27:02 pm »
I have 4 bn plecos (1 adult female, 1 2" male and 2 1.5" females). My 2 smaller females dont seem to growing much, ive had them for about year and half and stayed the same size. The male is growing slowly and has all its bristles. Now should i rehome my 2 smaller females and keep the male and adult female as i think they are stealing all the food and not getting chance to eat much. Or can the 2 smaller ones go in smaller tank to grow some more?

Guys, is it wise to keep 1m with 3f?

I am thinking not because when breeding comes he'll be worn out!

Don't know for sure, just my initial reaction.

And yes please respond to DD's question re feeding.

I would say unlikely, but can you post pics and we'll try to sort it out for you.
Extra water changes and lots of veg help with growth when they are small though. ;)

They all look like (sp.) to me, standard bristlenoses, so probably around 4" each.
Lots of fresh veg and water changes then to promote growth. :)
