4ft Amazon Upgrade
« on: December 05, 2017, 07:06:14 pm »
Decided to start a tank log for my current project... an upgrade from my current 125ltr 3ft tank to a 300ltr 4ft setup.

Current fish are mainly C. Adolfoi along with a few tetras and rasboras. Recently added two Electric Blue Rams and two Cobalt Gobies but the Gobies will more than likely be moved to the office tank.

The plan is to have 4 species of corydoras and a few dwarf cichlids with maybe a pair of nice checkered Discus. The tank will be half planted and the other half sandy with a few pebbles and slate. Large pieces of bogwood with holes drilled into them for plecs etcs.

Filtration will be my exisiting Fluval 306 along with a new 406. CO2 will be pressurised via a 2kg FE and ferts will be via an auto doser (at some stage). Lighting is Fluval's Fresh and Plant 2.0 52w unit on a dimmer timer. Heating via Hydor 300w inline heater.

All said and done, hopefully, I should be set up by the weekend.

Yes. Went there to go over some details of a larger aquarium I'm ordering for next year and walked out with one of their display tanks as well. *grin*

Be careful with the slate Alex.
I won't use it with corys any more. Even though I filed down the edges they still managed to cut themselves.
Sent from my PC as I still don't understand the the logic for mobile internet usage ;) *grin*

Tried a few other ways but I'm liking the stacked look, and slightly off centred will be it I think.

Crushed lava rock to build up a slight slope, JBL Aquabasis from my old tank ontop then Seachems Flourite on top of that. The rest will be sand and some small stones.

Looks very interesting with the wood, but - how are you going to get in that other cupboard to the right (in the pic)?  *dontknow*

That's the old aquarium Ian. It will be moved once the fish are transferred.
