Small pleco?
« on: January 29, 2018, 02:18:48 pm »
Hi

Once my tank is established i was looking at getting some pitbull plecos (LDA25). Unfortunately I can't find them anywhere, one store said they're no longer allowed to be exported.

So does anyone else know any other species that will fit into my tank, its 100l, 70cm Long and 32cm Wide?

Thanks

I can't make any Pleco suggestions but I think different ones may need different temps. What else are you planning on going in the tank (what temp do you need to run tank at)? Also, what is your water hardness? May help a few ideas come your way.

Actually, you could also have a look at planet catfish. I think on there there might be an option to search for fish of a similar size?

A few other community fish including Cory's my ideal temp would be the 24c mark. I cant remember my water hardness off the top of my head i was just hoping for some ideas then to see if they'd be okay with my water parameters.

Have a look at L201 - orinoco angel pleco. Only gets 4-5" and striking colouration.

Running a handful of tanks from 25l to 600l - i change what i have all the time, and am addicted to bargain tanks!

Freshwater fan - no marines for me! Big fan of sumps in general, and refugariums in particular!

There are lots of Peckoltia and Ancistrus that stay small. If you go here...

    https://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/

...you can search by temperature... or pH.

Set the family name to Loricariidae for Plecs.
