I’ve lost a fish? Randomly. Can’t find it anywhere. Is that normal? Lol

    Is it a tetra?
If so, they can hide for weeks, little tykes, and then reappear just as you've decided they're dead and amend your records.
However, if they are dead, it is sometimes the fact that they will be eaten very quickly by snails, shrimp and the other fish....I had an angel disappear overnight once.
Sent from my PC as I still don't understand the the logic for mobile internet usage ;) *grin*
    I really hate "autocorrupt"!!!

Ye is a cardinal tetra, just randomly disappeared can’t see it anywhere. I have seen some resonable sized snails though so that might explain it

So the algae will not stop, I have been doing 50% water changes, cleaning gravel. Hardly feeding the few fish that are actually in the tank but yet it still comes back every couple of days.

My last tank did not do this and it’s pretty much the same, I don’t understand why it’s so bad, it’s only diatom brown algae by the looks of it but it’s horrible and really annoying.

I have tested the water straight out the tap in the my house
    Ammonia - 0.2
    Nitrites - between 0.25-0.5
    Nitrates - 10ppm max!

My water record online shows low phosphate at 1ppm and hardly anything else! I don’t understand what is causing this, I have followed advice from Aquarium Gardens and fellow peeps on here but nothing seems to work.

Ahh - Overdosing plant nutrients can cause the algae that sits in the tank unseen to bloom and grow. A good catch  *cheers*
60ltr - House move completed, approval from Mrs gained, pending funds.

    The tank looks great.
It's not heavily planted so cut back on the fertiliser feed to about 30% and hopefully things will improve.
I think I did say to change to TNC Lite and only 30-50% dose in a private message.
Your water is a little hard (approx. 13dGH) so it carries quite a few minerals (nutrients) hence using TNC Lite instead of TNC Complete.
TNC Lite is very similar to TNC Complete except it is nitrate and phosphate free.

Glad that your algae issue has improved.
Look after your fish and the water, do regular water changes & maintenance, do your research and the hobby will be rewarding.
    All the best
    Stephen
