Bolivian Ram Behavior
« on: December 10, 2018, 09:02:29 pm »
Hi,

After losing one of my Bolivian Rams I was left with just one on its own so I decided to get another two. Since adding them to my tank though they all seem to be having the odd pop at each other, lip locking and the occasional chase.

Is this just rams being rams or have I made a mistake in only adding two? I keep reading how rams have more interesting behavior in a group of 6+. But then I also read how they like their individual territory.

Would adding more help spread the aggression or is the limited room likely to just cause more havoc?

Thanks

It depends if they're all male or not. Even with a group you still need an excess of females..... ;)
Sent from my PC as I still don't understand the the logic for mobile internet usage ;) *grin*

May just stick with the trio then in that case, the aggression is pretty minimal and they're quite interesting to watch.
