Just wondering if you think this is beyond saving,the rhisome is still green and I thought it may just be going dormant.
I keep reading conflicting advice on it needing a dormant stage.
My other pitchers and fly traps do this every winter but bounce back in the spring but I only got this in August.

Hi Piker.
Your nepenthes looks past saving to me mate but if there is still some signs of green living tissue down in the growing point then it's worth giving it a chance.
Personally I would cut all the dead foliage away, as close to the soil as possible, keep the soil moist and put it in as much light as possible then keep fingers crossed ..
Nepenthes have highland, intermediate and lowland varieties needing different conditions depending which category they fall into.
Your hookeriana falls into the intermediate category, or so most growers believe, this should make it more tolerant of temp changes and on paper, easier to look after...
Nepenthes don't really have a dormancy like vft's or sarras etc but plants will generally slow down in the winter due to temperature drops and reduced photo/ light period unless they are being kept under artificial lighting and heating...
where was your plant being kept ?, did it go downhill from the moment you received it or had it been growing ok before it died back ?.
Is it in the same soil mix as your other neps ?
I am no expert by any means and only have one nep due to it needing to be indoors during the winter.

I have it in the same soil mix as my other plants,70% sphagnum 30% perlite.
I have my plants in my conservatory,it gets very cold in the winter.
It was growing ok and nearly doubled in size growing new leaves and traps,I moved it into the kitchen on a windowsill when I noticed it going downhill.
Will cut it back and see what happens,I know these are a bit more fussy and there's lots of conflicting advise on the web.

Intermediate neps should be ok in general houseplant temperatures, a conservatory or greenhouse would be too cold in my opinion, I see you moved it indoors now .
I wouldn't recommend letting a nep see much lower than 5c/ 41f, not for an extended period certainly.
Mine is on a south facing bathroom windowsill , I stand it in an inch of rainwater and replace the rainwater once it has dried out of the Saucer .
I take it you are using rain/ ro water ?.
If there's a solid stem left at the centre of the plant and or decent looking roots then I'd give it till spring to start to show any signs of recovery.
Any growth this time of year will be very slow.

Well the nep didn't come back but I've managed to get a side cutting off my mum's so see how it goes.
How are yours doing are they waking up now.

Hi mate, sorry to hear about the loss, fingers crossed for the new cutting ! .
My nep has put out a couple of new leaves over the last few weeks and all the garden beasts are putting out new growth and flower buds .
I love this time of year , watching everything spring back into life!

Everything growing well at the moment,some new additions and trying a few from seed.Too late really to start the seeds but see how they go.

Glad to see the collection is doing well mate. Sarras and vft's seeds will germinate pretty much anytime as long as they have been stratified. You can skip dormancy in the first year too if you have somewhere suitable for them. I have germinated both on a windowsill during December...
