Just an update. After creating more hiding spaces for my plec & minimal disruption (just water change & hoover) to the tank  for a week, I am happy to report he has massively improved. He seems to be loving the new hidy holes  *grin*

Thanks for all the advice guys, me and the little guy really appreciate it :)
