Kev's corner tank
« on: March 18, 2019, 02:33:51 pm »
I have a 190l Trigon corner tank. After losing passion following losing a full Malawi tank I've started a new tank. I've also used plants for the first time too

Final stock will be
Tiger barb x10
Golden barb x5
Phantom tetra x5
Dwarf Neon Rainbowfish X5
Polkadot loach X3

Plants
Rear corner is Anubias heterophylia
Middle left is Anubias barteri var. Nana
Middle right is Anubias barteri
Front left Anubias nana coin
Front right Anubias nana

I will stock slowly so the full list isn't in yet

    Nice. :)
You'll want 5+ loaches, they do way better in larger groups.

At the stocking I've said according to the aqadvisor calculator I'm pretty much fully stocked so will try three.

I've had a nitrate spike to 80ppm so just done a 40% water change. Also, one of my new plants is showing large brown patches which seems fitting with the nitrate spike

Tank is now between 20-40ppm nitrate. I can relax a bit more

I've got a 190 Trigon, you'll be ok with 5 loaches as they're bottom feeders, and you've removed the filter box so you have more area and therefore more volume. ;)

I see tanks where people ram loads in but surely they end up with issues down the line. I've got a 200l tank coming. Need to start thinking for ideas on that too
