Can I build a filter
« on: May 22, 2020, 03:04:41 pm »
Hi everyone just picked up a Juwel lido 120.
Came with the housing for the filter but not the power head and connectors.
I would like to use it my tank to keep the equipment hidden. The back wall
will have a 3D background then go around the filter housing so it all blends in.
Question is can I build a filter within the housing??
Thinking I will use a Eheim compact 1000 and try and work around that

Does the water go into the filter at the top or the bottom? If it’s the top just fill it with media (in bags makes it much easier to clean), and put the pump in the bottom with an outlet pipe going up to the top.

Thanks for the reply. It has intakes on the top and some on the bottom. I’m guessing I could just block those bottom ones up,? Unless there’s a way to incorporate both intakes?

As long as the water passes through all of the media it will work well. Having water enter at the top and bottom might not work well enough. Intake slits at top And bottom isn’t a very efficient design.
