Corydoras tank height

Can Corydoras deal with higher tanks? I am thinking of putting together a 31” high tank, mainly focussed on angels. I was hoping to add a nice school of Corydoras. In my other tanks the Corydoras regularly go to the surface to gulp some air. I know this is quite normal, but it always looks to me like it takes them a lot of effort to get up the 18 inches or so that their tanks are high. Would 31” be an issue for them?
Thank you
