I know what a biotope is, I just never looked into what comes from where specifically.. as long as it'll all live in the same water, that's enough for me..
The Clown Knife may be a little on the large size, think your limits will be set by the (comparatively) narrow width of the tank..
Just looking at the specs, they're up to a metre long. That's too big for a 2' wide tank.
They're from Asia, found in India, Thailand, Borneo, Malaysia and Sumatra..

Yay, another big fish tank keeper
I don't know how they'd work with the others but something that size. Clown Loaches, flagtails and angelfish. But then I am biased
Pim Pictus are great when in 4 or more so I'd do it. I'm looking forward to getting mine back into a school again.
When will we get some pics? Everyone loves some good pics

in the first place i wanted pictus but dident know if a fire eel would pick it off but with without the eel
16 pictus (i like them you can tell)
african knife fish (always wanted a knife fish)
4 african butterfly fish (not many more predetory surface dwellers so these will do)
some other medium odd ball (suggestions?)

How about a Lima Shovelnose Catfish or a Goby Dragon Eel (possibly incorrect name)
Red Finned Gourami could always be an option. It would grow out nicely in that tank.
Otherwise I find random buying of fish works just aswell. It's always nice seeing and going I want it and leaving the shop with it

Yes I believe they are which is why I don't have one
Seeing as your tank size is the minimum I'll be steping up to this is what I'll have in mine when I get there
1 x Flagtail Prochilodus
6 x Clown Loaches
6 x Pim Pictus
1 x Lima Shovelnose Catfish
6 x Angelfish
These are what I like and I get the satisfaction of growing them all out. My flagtail is at 7" from 2". My Lima is 6" at the moment and I hope to get as close to 18" with him as possible. The loaches are 2.5-3" each and hoping for 12" on them.
Just make sure you get what lives together happily and pleases you at the same time

There are many options for a predatory tank of that size;
Polypterus - ornate, delhezi,
Channa - pleuro, obscura
Datnoids
Cats - giraffe, perruno, Lima
Cichlids - argentea, chocolate, severum, pearsei, etc.
geophagus > ideal for keeping your deep sand in good nick
Dithers - silver dollars red hooks, tinfoils, annostomus, leporinus, flagtails,
Etc...
You definitely want a few good sized sand sifters, to stop the sand from compacting

pancakes.. can I ask why you appear to be obsessed with predatory fish?

Cats - giraffe, perruno
Pushing it on 2' width for these I think?
Both beautiful fish (we had a Perruno that wouldn't eat anything live, or very much at all.. very partial to coley fillets though)..
Seen Giraffe cats at around 2' on a couple of occasions.
