fluval 205
« on: January 23, 2008, 04:18:18 pm »
i have been thinking for a while now that me fluval 205 is not up to the job.
the filter is in my marine tank if that makes any difference.i have looked up the filter on the web and found out the max size tank you can use it on is a 200 ltr ,wich is the size of my tank.
my question is ,do i need a bigger filter or is the 205 sufficent for my needs?.

i have seen large bits of ?? floating past the inlet and thought should'nt that have been sucked up.

filter is clear and i have a good flow rate at the outlet.
cheers:)
i gave my missus me trainers, coat and camera and said take a pic of me, she didnt have a clue what was going on!

    I have a 305 on my 180, thinking of replacing with a 405 or a fx5 or a big eheim:)

decent enough, but not as powerful as they make out

    the whole thing .
i haven't looked anywhere yet .the reason i ask is i bought my tank second hand for eighty quid with stand and lid ,i thought it was a good deal untill i got it home and only 1 tube was working.
i though oh well its got a light (newbie) then after a while i thought i would investigate why only one tube worked.
i opened the lid carfully and found it had been rewired really badly .i know nothing of wireing lights but this was criminal.
there were two wires twisted together with no tape or connector blocks and the rest had been cut and left loose so took it off and used the lid of my marine tank that i was'nt useing .
the problem is the marine lid does'nt fit properly and the lights are to high from the water .
i gave my missus me trainers, coat and camera and said take a pic of me, she didnt have a clue what was going on!
