    Hey everyone,

I was thinking can I mix sand and gravel in the bottom of the tank ? So a 1/3 was sand and 2/3 gravel ?

Would this cause any problems ?

I think it could really set the bottom of and look great.

you can but they need to not be able to mix with each other, you will need to seperate them with something like plastic lawn edging siliconed in place on the tank floor (think it takes 2 days to dry) options are limited though some have done it with a barrier of rocks/stones

well done if you have *grin* *applause* :frogdot:

Ah cool, I would like to do it, think it could be a nice contrast, haven't looked Into planting on sand though?

Now what rocks to separate it off and what sand to get :)

    Evening all.

When I pick the tank and fish up from RainbowDee this weekend, how much water from the existing tank should I be looking to take with me ? Its a 240 litre tank.

Just trying to find some plastic containers to transport it in, 20 or 25 litre platic drums, but I am struggling to find anything in the Hampshire / Portsmouth area.
