It's nothing spectacular at the moment. The stingray filter wont be staying, its just there to promote gas exchange over the summer.

Baby Guppy!!!!

Just found a guppy fry in my main tank. One more guppy to go in the school tank in september. Hope it survives and that there are some siblings in there somewhere.

Nitrites are still spiking in the filter tank.

The hornwort has shot up in the 60l tank. Gave it a trim and replanted the pieces. Should be nice and overgrown by september.

keep a log for the kids at school too, so they know how to cycle a tank when they get their own

about the cories spawning? in the tank you are cycling? it won't have enough nice stuff for the cories to feed on or maybe I got you wrong, clearing up... are you thinking of putting the cories in the newly cycled tank to get eggs?

3 more baby guppies spotted after lights out.

I was wondering about this. Putting the guppies in the cycled tank might be a better solution. I do think that any eggs the corys lay will be eagerly eaten by the guppies. Im also concerned about the minnows. They seem to copy the guppies.

Latest water tests:

Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite:5ppm maybe higher
Nitrate:80ppm

The bacteria are growing

Ammonia is now being processed in under 24hrs and I seem to have loads of baby guppies in my main tank. Its difficult not to spot them now.

I have baby/juvenille/adult peppered cory in my 3 foot tank overrun with guppies

life will find a way, just have loads of plants/moss

Over 20 baby guppies in my main tank. The older guppies dont seem that interested in eating them now.

After a few days away, the filter's tank has gone down to 0ppm ammonia and 0ppm nitrites. Doesed the ammonia again. Will see how long it tanks for the nitrites to go down.

poor thing, though if these guppies are going to breed this quickly, they are going to get alittle cramped

Nitrites are now at 0ppm on every test. I'm going to keep dosing the tank with ammonia until I work out whit I am going to do with the very small aquarium and filter for the next month. If my lfs can get in any hastatus, maybe a quaratine tank.

Exciting news: The adolescent guppy that came free when I got the guppy/endlers appears to be male. It has developed a gonopodium. It my just be my imagination but it appears to have a darker smudge on one side, possible an endler black bar?
