siamese algae eaters are very nice but i quite like the look of the gold algae eaters, have you heard of these being helpful aswell ?  im guessing they should be since their name is algae eater lol ?

I think the gold algae eaters a variant of chinese algae eaters, which are very go od algae eaters but I think e become aggressive when they age, and also latch on to the sides of fish. Maybe someone can confirm this?

Yes sadly I had a Chinese algae eater. Had to take him back. They get VERY aggressive. Poor guy. Probably shouldn't get one. You need at least 200 litres anyway. Couldn't keep him in my 125. That's why I have SAEs now. They're like the CAEs calmed down cousin.

thanks guys, is it alright to just get one SAE or do they need to be in groups ?

3 is a minimum really. I have 3 and they are so happy at the moment. But listen don't let me change your mind. If you want a pleco get a pleco! It's just a matter of preference. They are both lovely fish.
