setting up my tank again i like a lot of plants so trying 2" of wickes topsoil with adout 1" play sand on top

I just set my first dirted tank up and used gravel and the soil will come through if your not careful,so your going have to be extra carful with sand.

silicone pulling away at both back corners once i had water in. do i need to remove the sealant and redo it or is there a way to repair. what sealents are suitable

I would totally re-seal the whole lot if you have the skills,i had tank burst but didnt trust myself to re-seal it so bought another.

cleaned out tank took silicone off damaged corners ready to reseal them

Filled it with water to see if it leaked was ok. Put in soil and sand now need some bogwood and slate the put some water in and cuttings. From my dads plants

got a leak on christmas eve cut it down for full rebuild think i might put a overflow on back while i am on

Thats the problem when it leaks in one place it is best to re-seal the lot,did mention it!!!

Looking.good! I went for the dirted tank method in my old and new tanks.
