Albino bristlenose pleco!

I found some great Albino bristlenose's in Pets At Home Great Yarmouth! I have never seen these in a shop before and was told that no other PAH in the area has them. They were £10 each but as I never seen one before I got myself one.

They had one with really long fins which I guess could be a male so i'm going back tomorrow for it!

its not the fins that define male female...if its a male it will have bristles on its lip and up the nose..
of all the things ive lost, i miss my mind the most!!........

nice little fish, albino bn's are a lot more common than they are making out but still a nice fish.
the one with long fins isn't necessarily a male, just a long finned variety of the bn.
you can tell males and females apart by the bristles that grow on their heads/noses but not until they start to mature

another way to tell, if they are too young to grow bristles yet, is to look for what looks like a red/pink thumbprint just behind the head, if the mark is there, it should be male

Mine is only about 4cm big so It might be too soon to see the bristles atm

Bit expensive though  Looks good though. Very common in LFS's but not P@H they only really ever have basic fish with common BN's. Well around my area that is anyway.

Yeah true but I guess that's because they don't normally get them. TBH I don't mind the price as they have a really good replacement policy and I seem to get given much better advice from them than the LFS near them. I guess all PAH are different when it comes to these things but that's another topic lol.

think this one of mine is a male:loool:

Around 2.5 to three inch males should develop the bristles. Females can have them as well but much smaller.

Nice looking one you have there common as muck up this way:D

    take care brian
